Traveling With Pets in the EuroTunnel

 In Blog

If you need to travel between the United Kingdom and the European continent and you don’t want to take a flight, you may want to consider taking the Eurotunnel.

EuroTunnel

Dubbed one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Channel Tunnel connects Folkestone, England to Coquelles, France (near Calais). Specially-built trains, or shuttles, travel at about 90mph and carry cars, motorcycles and other vehicles through the tunnel. If you’re travelling with your pet, he would stay with you in your vehicle for the 35-minute trip.

Over 1 million cats and dogs have traveled via the Eurotunnel. Pets can travel every day of the year. Assistance dogs travel for free. There are outdoor pet exercise areas at each terminal as well as a dedicated staff to help you with your pet care needs.

Since the Eurotunnel facilitates travel to and from the European Union, all pets must comply with the PETS Travel Scheme per the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). Please review this checklist:
